The Fall Standards Engineering Summit will be held September 20-22 in Portland, Oregon. This semi-annual event features a complete slate of EIA engineering meetings plus a series of general sessions and participation activities that will allow attendees to meet and exchange information with colleagues and peers. A special seminar has been added to Monday, geared to first-time attendees. The Summit chairmen in conjunction with the S-1 General Session have provided a schedule that will both meet the objectives of each attendee and still allow enough time to assure a productive and efficient venue for all technical activities.

Who Should Attend:

Component Manufacturers, Material and Equipment Suppliers, OEMs.
Market managers, engineering, product managers, manufacturing, and test/conformity assessment engineers and managers.

Meetings focus:

Meetings developing Standards for Passive Components—Resistors, Capacitors, Inductive Components, Overcurrent Protection Devices, IPDs, Decoupling Devices, Electronic
Connectors and Sockets.

Discuss and create Industry Standards, Test Methods, Performance Criteria,
Soldering Technology, Automated Component Handling, Product & Process
Quality and Reliability.

Special Focus this event on:
• Training Session on updated EIA Standards development process and implementing the backadoption of IEC international Standards
• iNEMI Technology Roadmap for passive electronic components,
• American National Standards and international standards development projects
• New standards, marketing, and technology developments in the passive electronic components industry, and
• Networking within the industry.

The Tuesday morning session engages user issues such as material supplies availability, manufacturing/production -related issues, and industry-wide aspects of product
distribution channels.

NEW: Strategic Standardization Management Seminar

Monday, September 19th

A Strategic Standardization Management Seminar has been added to the Fall Standards Engineering Summit meeting on Monday, September 19th from 1:30 - 4:00 specifically for first-time attendees. An intensive afternoon introducing the world of Strategic Standardization Management. Learn about the Global Standards Development community, who the players are, the value of standards, how to use them to a strategic advantage,
and what it takes to participate in the process. Registration is required.

The meeting is open to all interested individuals from users, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, academia, and government agencies. It provides component engineers an opportunity to learn about the standards development process, how to better use standards to a company’s business advantage, what market pressures are currently impacting product design, and to network with some of the nation’s best and brightest component engineers.
