Standards & Guidelines
The Standards and Guidelines Council provides member companies the opportunity
to affect our industry in two ways; industry technical standards and supply
chain guidelines and position papers. The Components Council identifies and addresses business process issues. These issues range from
environmental regulations, EDI, trade compliance, and counterfeit parts. If
there is an issue that affects our industry, the Components Council takes
pro-active actions to influence new regulations and mitigate any
negative effects.
The Standards and Technical Advisory Group provides technical
standards for parts within our industry. They coordinate with other
standards organizations to influence their actions on behalf of our industry.

Compliance & International Trade (CITC)
Since 9/11 and with a global economy, governments are creating ever more complex regulations for importing and exporting electronics. The CITC is comprised of representatives from ECIA member companies that are involved in trade compliance.
The landscape of international trade has changed significantly during the last few years. Changes in trade regulations have increased the level of complexity and the global market has grown to become a significant part of our business.
The goal of this committee is to propose industry standard procedures, forms, etc. that meet regulatory requirements. Committee meetings are an excellent forum to raise questions regarding regulations and discuss potential solutions.
