Marketing Council

At it's core, ECIA promotes the real benefits of authorized sourcing to the industry, customers and the investment community. As an advocate, the association actively campaigns against counterfeiting.

For years, the association's advocacy campaign led the fight against counterfeit components by educating purchasers on the benefits of sourcing authorized electronic components. Depending on the type of component, counterfeits now comprise somewhere between 5% and 25% of all available parts. Counterfeit electronic components cost industry as much $100 billion per year. With more sophisticated technology come even more advanced imitations. Fake components that often pass initial tests are boldly making their way into consumer products, medical products, automobiles, even military products, threatening lives and livelihoods every day. Buying from an ECIA Authorized Source minimizes the risk, by delivering genuine parts from legitimate suppliers, with screening, traceability and warranty support you can trust.

In 2012 ECIA formed the Advocacy & Industry Promotion Council (Marketing Council) to develop an overall marketing strategy for the association and oversee the promotion of the association's many programs and deliverables.

Member Resources

The Marketing Council oversees the marketing efforts of the association and offers member companies a number of resources to promote their association involvement and brand positioning. Members have access to a Digital Media Kit that contains the association logo, the "authorized source" logo, ready-to-go advertising templates, boiler plate language, "About ECIA" powerpoint presentation and more. Members should contact Debbie Conyers, ECIA's Director of Marketing & Communications for access to these resources.

Partner Ad Program

The Council has established a Partner Ad Program with several trade publications. Members receive discounted advertising rates for ads placed through this program. Both print and digital banner ads are available. Contact Debbie Conyers for more information.

Exclusive - Advertise on the Inventory Search Site!

Support the site that supports the authorized sale of electronic components. Six home page advertising blocks are now available to all ECIA member manufacturer, distributor and rep firms. Ads will rotate in random and may be changed quarterly. Click here to complete an advertising agreement.

ECIAThe advocacy efforts of the association led to the development of the ECIA inventory search site. enables customers to avoid gray market and counterfeit product and provides a secure site that only lists inventory that is genuine and backed by manufacturer's warranty. The website is the only industry-owned, impartial site where customers can find authorized inventory. Search results are not based on how much a distributor advertises or sponsors, so the website benefits distributor members of all sizes. Only ECIA distributor members may list their inventory on the site. Distributors pay an annual fee of $1,500 to list their inventory - and may only list the inventory they are authorized to sell.

New Features! The site is routinely being enhanced with new features. The latest enhancement is the Distributor Stock Check widget for manufacturers' sites. Link right to authorized inventory from your authorized distributors. Foro a limited time, this new tool is available free of charge to ECIA member manufacturers.
