ECIA's advocacy campaign leads the fight against counterfeit components by educating purchasers on the real benefits of sourcing authorized electronic components. Only ECIA members may use this distinct logo to identify themselves as an authorized source.

Depending on the type of component, counterfeits now comprise somewhere between 5% and 25% of all available parts. Counterfeit electronic components cost industry as much $100 billion per year. ECIA's inventory search site www.eciaauthorized.com enables customers to avoid gray market and counterfeit product and provides a secure site that only lists inventory that is genuine and backed by manufacturer's warranty. The website is the only industry-owned, impartial site where customers can find authorized inventory. Search results are not based on how much a distributor advertises or sponsors, so the website benefits distributor members of all sizes. Only ECIA distributor members may list their inventory on the site. Distributors pay an annual fee of $2,500 to list their inventory - and may only list the inventory they are authorized to sell.
